Meet our friendly team.
Mums, Educators, Mentors.
Our Team
At The Discovery House we are lucky to have a team of highly trained professional staff who have a genuine interest and love of Early Childhood Education. Being a family owned and operated business we are proud to have a loyal and dedicated team, all of whom are mothers themselves. Our goal is to not only educate your child so they are socially and emotionally ready for Primary School, but also to create a loving and caring environment where they feel safe and confident to be truly themselves!
We value the continuous development of our educators and invest in constant Professional Development. You can be assured that all the educators have an up-to-date knowledge of Safety, First Aid, Child Protection, Programming and Planning, updates within the industry and hold a valid Working with Children’s Check.
All of our educators are permanent part or full time, as we staff over ratio daily, we do not use unknown or agency casual staff. So, you can be assured that the educator your child forms a bond with will be your child’s educator each week and there are no unfamiliar faces in the centre. We feel that consistency is also important for parents, therefore we are structured so that you will see the same educators at pick up and drop off, ensuring that there is ample opportunity for communication with your room leader.

DIPLOMA
Commenced at TDH in 2016
I have Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Before joining THD I taught Year 4 – 6 English in a primary school in China 20 years ago. After moving into Australia, I was a full-time mum looking after my two sons for years until they started school. I have been part of TDH team for 8 years! I enjoy watching and supporting children grow and explore, building up and supporting their interest in Mandarin learning.
I like spending time with my family, cooking, shopping, bush walking, cycling, camping……these are the fun things I enjoy doing in my spare time. I’m most proud of my two teenage boys who have grown and achieved so much in their school and personal development. Before they fly away from my nest, I would love to continue my passion for helping TDH children and inspire them to learn and grow. In the future I wish I could explore different places and cultures all over the world.

DIPLOMA

Prior to moving to Australia in 2017 from Ireland I looked after children in my home, similar to Family Day Care here, for 6 years. The children I looked after became part of our family and when we moved, I knew I wanted to continue to be with children. I completed my Certificate III in Early Childhood Care and Education through Tafe and came to TDH to do my practical experience and never left.
I am currently doing my Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education. Children bring so much energy and fun, a desire to explore and learn and cuddles to their day and I love being a part of their journey with them.
I love bush walking with our dog and spending time with family and friends. I am an avid Irish Rugby supporter and love watching the games. I have a very sporty son and enjoy supporting him at the weekends.
