OUR TEAM

Meet our dedicated team of passionate mums and educators, committed to nurturing your child's growth in a safe, loving, and supportive environment.

At The Discovery House, we are lucky to have a wonderful team of passionate and caring educators who truly love what they do. As a family-owned and operated preschool, we understand how important it is for children to feel at home and supported in their learning journey. Our team is made up of parents, just like you, who bring a deep understanding of children's needs and a genuine love for nurturing their growth and development.

We are more than just educators; we are mentors and guides who are dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can feel valued, loved, and confident. Every day, we work together to foster an atmosphere of respect and warmth, where children can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.

We are committed to the ongoing professional development of our educators. Each team member stays up to date with the latest practices in Safety, First Aid, Child Protection, and Programming, and holds a valid Working with Children Check.

We take great pride in the strong relationships we build with both children and families. Our team members are permanent, and we always ensure consistency by staffing over ratio daily. This means your child will be greeted by the same friendly faces each day, creating a sense of security and trust. We don't use agency staff, so you can be sure that the educator your child bonds with will always be there, providing the stable, supportive care they deserve.

I completed a Bachelor of Business at UTS and worked in HR since 2015. After beginning my Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care, I immediately fell in love with the course and the wonderful team here at The Discovery House!

In 2019, I took on the role of Director, and I've truly enjoyed being part of our unique Discovery House community ever since. It’s a privilege to help create a nurturing environment for children to grow and learn.

I have a daughter who attends the Lady Bugs class, and I’m excited to see my son start at TDH once he turns two. I am currently on maternity leave and look forward to returning to the team in mid-2025.

One of the things I love most about TDH is our beautiful outdoor setting. We’re so fortunate to be nestled in nature, and I really enjoy spending time outdoors—something that aligns perfectly with the values we uphold here at the Preschool.

From a very young age, I always knew I wanted my career to focus on children and teaching. I believe this passion began during my own preschool years when I had the most gentle and caring educator. She taught me the importance of kindness, and I remember her so vividly.

After high school, I commenced university, where I studied a Bachelor of Education (Birth to Twelve). My degree allowed me to learn about both primary and infant-aged children, and I truly believe this has contributed to the development of our school readiness program. Having a strong understanding of the skills needed in both learning environments has been invaluable.

I started working at The Discovery House in 2018, where my roles have included Room Leader, Educational Leader, and now Director.

I am so proud to be a part of our wonderful TDH community, and I feel privileged to be involved in every child’s early learning journey.

I have Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Before joining THD I taught Year 4 – 6 English in a primary school in China 20 years ago. After moving into Australia, I was a full-time mum looking after my two sons for years until they started school. I have been part of TDH team for 8 years! I enjoy watching and supporting children grow and explore, building up and supporting their interest in Mandarin learning.

I like spending time with my family, cooking, shopping, bush walking, cycling, camping……these are the fun things I enjoy doing in my spare time. I’m most proud of my two teenage boys who have grown and achieved so much in their school and personal development. Before they fly away from my nest, I would love to continue my passion for helping TDH children and inspire them to learn and grow. In the future I wish I could explore different places and cultures all over the world.
